19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a difficult period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's initial championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after March of that year.

Victory also signifies he has won 21 victories at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

The player's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on court had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an improved serving game.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
